  will turn your curiosity into confidence! Session One, held on Saturday mo
 rning, covers the essentials: how a telescope works, the different types of
  telescopes, and observational techniques. In Session Two, the following Sa
 turday evening, you’ll put theory into practice during a guided observing s
 ession led by Planetarium Educators.<br /><br />Whether you’re a complete n
 ovice or looking to sharpen your skills, Sky & Scope workshops will provide
  the knowledge and support you need to navigate the night sky!<br /><br />S
 ession One: The Basics of Telescopes and Observational Astronomy<br />Join 
 a Planetarium Educator in the Willis Smith Classroom for an inside look int
 o telescopes with a 2-hour workshop from 10am-Noon! We’ll cover the basics 
 of glass and mirrors, touch on techniques for navigating the night sky, and
  explore different types of telescopes. Most importantly, we’ll cover the p
 ractical steps to setting up and using your own telescope with confidence.<
