SUMMARY:Homeschool Young Makers: Create, Brand & Sell at The Makery
LOCATION:821 Apricot Avenue 3 Sarasota, FL 34237
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:What happens when kids are given the freedom, tools, and support to turn th
eir own ideas into something real?

In this eight-week homeschool
series, young makers will dream up their own product, experiment with mate
rials, create prototypes, solve problems, and develop a small collection to
sell. They’ll create a business name and logo, learn how to price and pack
age their work, design a display, tell the story behind what they made, and
 practice talking with customers.

This is not a class where ever
y child follows the same example or leaves with an identical project. Each
maker will build something inspired by their own interests, imagination, an
d personality. Ideas may change. Prototypes may flop. Problems will absolut
ely happen. That is part of the process.

Along the way, kids wil
l learn how to make creative decisions, work through frustration, accept fe
edback, manage their time, and keep going when something does not work the
first time. They’ll discover that making a product is about more than creat
ing something beautiful. It is also about understanding who it is for, what
makes it special, and how to share it with others.

At the end o
f the eight weeks, our young entrepreneurs will put everything they’ve lear
ned into action at a real Maker’s Market at The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime. T
hey’ll help set up and manage the booth, meet customers, talk about their c
reations, and sell the products they worked so hard to develop. They will k
eep the money they make from their sales.

The goal is not simply
to teach kids how to sell something. It is to give them a safe place to ta
ke their ideas seriously, learn through trial and error, and experience the
pride of bringing something entirely their own into the world.
