Public Sea Turtle Release at Coquina Beach

Join the Sea Turtle Conservancy along with our partners, Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch and Hurricane Hanks, as we release a satellite tagged adult loggerhead turtle as part of our annual Tour de Turtles event! We plan to release the turtle around 8:30 am EST but encourage you to show up early to get an up-close look and ask the turtle team any questions.
The release will take place on Anna Maria Island. The exact location will be announced the morning of the release. In previous years, we've released on Coquina Beach near a numbered life guard stand. Due to the availability of a nesting turtle, potential back-up date for this release is June 24. Make sure to watch this space for updates!
