Enjoy a two-day carnival with midway rides, games and fair food for the whole family, part of the annual Pineapple Drop Block Party on Dec. 31.
Event admission is free. Visit the website for advance savings on unlimited ride wristbands ($29 each, 2/$55 or 4/$99) and ride tickets. Midway hours are 1-11 pm Tuesday and 1 pm-1 am Wednesday. Carnival guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult age 21+.
The New Year's Eve block party, hosted by the Sarasota Downtown Merchants from 1 pm-1 am, features food vendors and music by Naughty Girl, Chas Collins, Gas House Gorillas and SRQ Beats. The giant glowing pineapple drops at midnight at Lemon Avenue & Main Street, followed by fireworks over Sarasota Bay, courtesy of Marina Jack.
