Bring the whole family to the Child Protection Center's first annual Runaway Pumpkin Family Fest — a FREE fall festival!
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., families can enjoy food trucks, trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, child-friendly activities and sensory stations, lawn games, photo opportunities, community partners, a bounce station, and CPC's PAWS therapy dogs in the always-popular puppy pit. Kids can also show off their costumes in our age-based costume contests.
Admission is completely FREE and open to the public — no registration required, no race required, just come enjoy the day.
For families who want to add a little more to the morning, a 5K race and a 100m kids' Mini Monster Dash kick things off before the festival opens (a virtual 5K option is also available).
Runners are welcome to stick around and join the Family Fest fun afterward.
Kids' costume contest:
0 to 2 yrs: 11:00 AM
3 to 5 yrs: 11:15 AM
6 to 8 yrs: 11:30 AM
9 to 12 yrs: 11:45 AM
Proceeds from the event support CPC's mission of preventing, intervening in, and treating child abuse across Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.
Registering for the Family Fest is not required, but it helps us plan for the day!
Community members are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations during the event to support local families facing food insecurity during the holiday season.
Note: The 100m Mini Monster Dash and 5K race both begin at 8:00 AM, just before the Family Fest opens.
