
Summer is just right around the corner and what better way for kids to spend their summer weeks then at Cat Depot Critter Camp! Every day, children will make a different craft, take part in cat trivia, stretch to animal-themed yoga, and learn a different lesson about cats or complete a science activity related to cats.
Each week, kids will have opportunity to meet some of the kitties up for adoption and enjoy a visit from a guest speaker!
Week 1: Monday, June 2 – Friday, June 6
Learn about the day in a life of a shelter cat, the history of animal
shelters, careers in animal welfare, and predators vs prey.
Week 2: Monday, June 9 – Friday, June 13
Learn about differences and similarities between domesticated
cats and big cat species, anomalies in cats, adaptations and habitats of various plants and animals, and how to classify objects.
Week 3: Monday, June 16 – Friday, June 20
Learn about the history of the domesticated cat, famous cats
throughout history, physical properties of matter, and animal classification.
Week 4: Monday, July 7 – Friday, July 11
Learn about the life cycle of a cat, how to choose the right cat to
adopt, the states of matter, and cat enrichment.
Week 5: Monday, July 14 – Friday, July 18
Learn how to introduce a new pet to your home, how to properly
care for your cat, inherited vs learned behaviors, and how plants
and animals change with the seasons.
Week 6: Monday, July 21 – Friday, July 25
Learn about community cats, cat breeds and their origins, food
chains, and how to use scientific investigation tools.
