The Build Resiliency In Communities (BRIC) Program provides parenting education services. Parents complete 20 weekly sessions that are split into two components: in-home individual parenting and group parenting sessions. The Parenting Specialist primarily utilizes the "Nurturing Parent Program" curriculum in conjunction with the 40 Developmental Assets to meet the needs of the family in both the individual in-home sessions as well as group sessions. Case management services are also provided. Curriculum is covered and presented by direct teaching, group activities, handouts, written assignments, videos, etc.
GAP is a prevention program that supports kinship caregivers (grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives) who step in to care for children removed from unsafe homes due to abuse or neglect. These caregivers often take on this responsibility unexpectedly; GAP provides the guidance, resources, and community support they need to keep their families strong and stable.
Services include support groups with guest speakers, parenting workshops, counseling, peer groups for children, advocacy, connections to community resources, holiday food drives, warmline for guidance, and referrals to additional services. The goal is simple yet powerful: to keep children safe, prevent the need for foster care, and ensure caregivers have the tools and confidence to succeed.
