Do you know a teen with a deep love for Florida’s wild places? Encourage them to apply for Teen Wild Trails Adventure Club — a FREE program designed with homeschool and alternative education students in mind. Created in partnership between Manatee County, Florida Government and Big Waters Land Trust, Teen Wild Trails offers environmentally passionate youth (ages 13–17) the opportunity to get outside, explore local preserves, and build a deeper understanding of the ecosystems that surround them.
Teen Wild Trails meets for guided hikes and hands-on exploration of natural lands across the county. Outings will last 4–6 hours, depending on location. Transportation to remote preserves is provided. Participants should be comfortable hiking, paddling, and spending extended periods of time outdoors.
